Spring Has Sprung
A family cycle along the Mawddach Trail. This beautiful ride meanders its way alongside the Mawddach estuary from Dolgellau to Barmouth across the famous Barmouth Bridge. Stop for a picnic along the way and take in the dramatic views of Cader Idris and the mesmerising estuary waters. This old railway line will take you on a nine-mile traffic-free trail bursting with nature.
Try your hand at crafts at Corris Craft Centre. There are lots of individual studios for various crafts, including pottery, jewellery, candle making, wood crafts and the very popular, Dyfi Gin Distillery. Whilst you are in Corris, discover underground adventures at King Arthur's Labyrinth. Take a boat ride deep into the mountains of Southern Snowdonia. You will sail through a magical waterfall where you will listen to myths and legends of dragons, giants, fierce battles and the legendary, King Arthur.
Take a trip north of Aberdovey and zip through the treetops on a warm spring day at Zip World in Blaenau Ffestiniog or Betws-Y-Coed. Discover a range of adventures from zip lining high above the quarry floor, to coasting through the forest on the UK’s only alpine coaster. This is definitely an adventure for the adrenaline junkies.
Although spring is not quite bathing weather, Aberdovey boasts four miles of one of Wales’ top Blue Flag beaches. Take a short walk from the front door and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this fabulous bit of coast. With views across to the Llyn Peninsula and the hills beyond Aberystwyth, there is no better place to stroll along the shore.
