February signifies that winter is coming to an end. The Skies are clearing, warmer weather is on its way and buds are appearing on trees.
It’s a time of quiet reflection and future planning and there’s no better place to ponder than in the tranquillity of Aberdyfi and the relaxing atmosphere of the Trefeddian.
Shrove Tuesday
February is also pancake time!
February  21st is Pancake Day (or Shrove Tuesday), a day which signifies the beginning of lent known as Ash Wednesday.
Shrove Tuesday, traditionally, is the last opportunity to use up eggs and fats before embarking on the Lenten fast, so use those eggs, pack up your kitchen and take a trip to the Trefeddian, however, we can’t promise that there will be any fasting for lent here!
Our full Welsh breakfast will set you up for seaside strolls and wonderful walks. Why not amble along the disused railway track following the picturesque Mawddach estuary, a perfect walk for all ages and abilities, also great for cycling.
A wander along the Broad Waters near Tywyn take in the stunning views towards Bird Rock and beyond, admire the abundance of nature and bird life before strolling to the woodlands of Ynysmaengwyn, steeped in history.
The Falls of Dolgoch are certainly a sight to behold after the rains have passed. This walk takes you up through the Fathew Valley under the viaduct which carries the Talyllyn Railway steam train.
Our four miles of golden sandy beach is a treat for a relaxing stroll or to let your furry friends release some energy, return to the delights from our bar snack menu or treat yourself to a fabulous homemade afternoon tea in our cosy sea view lounges.
