Build a sandcastle
Aberdyfi Beach has absolutely everything for a beach lover! Huge sand dunes, fine powdery white sand and the all important wet sand when the tide goes out to make amazing sandcastles! Grab your buckets & spades from reception and be as creative as you can and see who can build the greatest sandcastle!
Go on a scavenger hunt
Create your own scavenger hunt or download one that we have made for you! You can make it a woodland one with leaves & insects or a beach one with shells & seaweed! Whatever the weather brings, always a fun thing to do and absolutely free!
One of the best things for hours of fun is to fly a kite! Aberdyfi is unspoiled with four miles of fine, sandy beaches and sheltered dunes. It is a huge expanse of sandy beach which stretches from the Dovey Estuary and harbour of Aberdyfi several miles to the north to the seaside town of Tywyn. There is no better place when there is a breeze on the coast to send a kite soaring through the air!
Ynysmaengwyn just outside of Tywyn, is a woodland that has a hidden fairy glen for you to look for, a secret walled garden, the remains of the once grand mansion owned by the Corbett Family of Tywyn, a park and a dovecote and all of these cost absolutely nothing!
Bwlch Nant yr Arian visitor centre located just outside of Aberystwyth is well known for its daily feeding of red kites at 2pm in winter & 3pm in summer. There is no charge to watch the feeding. The centre also has trails for walkers, mountain bikes & runners. You can also do the animal puzzle trail. Bwlch Nant yr Arian also has 2 playgrounds to make the most of your day out!
