The official spelling of the village is Aberdyfi, which is derived from the Welsh word "Aber" which means "Mouth of" and "Dyfi" which is the name of the river. There are however many publications which use an older anglicised version in which the spelling is Aberdovey. As a result of this when you are referencing the village please use both spellings.

Aberdyfi is ideally located in the middle of the Cambrian coast to explore the surrounding area, which is rich in history and beauty, with plenty of things to do and see. Below are some details on the area with some of the attractions and places that one can visit.

Aberdyfi

Village
A short walk from the hotel is the scenic village of Aberdyfi. With a varied selection of architecture through the ages, the village has an "old world" charm that has been preserved for us to enjoy today. The village has a selection of shops from the ship's chandlers serving the many yachts that are moored on the estuary to gift shops for a memento of a memorable time spent in Wales.

Beach
Winner of Rural Beach Award Stretching out in front of the hotel is a golden sandy beach that is 4 miles long, offering plenty of space for all to enjoy. Whether it be swimming, surfing, kite flying or making the most of the sun the beach is superb and the envy of many a coastal town.

Recreation Ground

The Recreation Ground is a marvelous little center for croquet, bowls or tennis and it also has a very good 18 hole putting green.
